The new line of Down Syndrome dolls lands mid July.
Miniland is known as the world’s most inclusive dolls’ brand with its emphasis on racial diversity and social harmony so this new range was a logical step in the range’s development to allow ALL children to play with dolls that look like them.
Axis Toys Co-Founder Paula Opfer explains that developing a Down Syndrome Doll range with Miniland has been a long-time ambition. “Diversity and inclusion is at the heart of Miniland and inclusion means not only embracing different ethnicities and cultures from all over the world but also embracing those with special and additional needs,” she said. “I couldn’t be prouder of this new line and we hope they find a home, not only with families with kids who have Down Syndrome but also with all Australian families where diversity is respected and celebrated.”
Plans to help launch the Miniland Down Syndrome Dolls range include forging strong ties with the Down Syndrome community and their organisations as well as helping to raise funds for them. “We will also be implementing a full social media and PR campaign,” said Paula. “It’s important that having developed these unique dolls that people know about them as for many this will be a game-changer doll.
